The Center for Clinical Documentation and Evaluation (SKDE) works to highlight geographical disparities in specialist health services. Our goal is to contribute to equal health services of good quality regardless of where patients live.

SKDE is an independent unit within Helse Nord RHF. We shall contribute to better and more equitable healthcare services in Norway, by increasing knowledge about treatment quality and the use of healthcare services in the specialist healthcare service.

SKDE has a unique expertise environment that consists of, among other things, specialist advisors, clinicians, analysts and researchers. Our employees carry out analyses at different levels in the specialist healthcare service, both nationally and affiliated with Helse Nord RHF.
- We act as an advisory body for national medical quality registers.
- We create the Health Atlas which provides an overview of how the use of specialist healthcare services varies geographically in Norway.
- We also have several ongoing research projects.
SKDE has 38 employees, and we have offices on the 3rd floor of the SIVA building in the Research Park in Tromsø.
