SKDE is participating for the first time at Arendalsuka.
SKDE is stepping up with its own event during Arendalsuka 2024. There will be a debate on how method books can help reduce unwanted variation in hospitals.

Arendalsuka 2024 will be held from 12th to 16th August. In addition to participating for the first time, SKDE will also contribute with its own event.
Together with the Interregional Management Group for Method Books, SKDE is behind the event Can common method books help reduce unwanted variation in hospitals? - Arendalsuka. You can catch this on Tuesday 13th August from 10:30 to 12:00 at Tollbodgaten 1.
Method books are an important tool for healthcare professionals
The collaboration to establish common method books in the four health regions is part of the effort to reduce unwanted practice variation. Common method books provide a harmonisation of medical methods and procedures and a focus on best practices. By creating method books that can be used across all regions, we also streamline the process of developing procedures, which in turn can free up resources for healthcare professionals.
SKDE took over responsibility for the further development of metodebok.no in 2024.
Sharing experiences with metodebok.no
At the SKDE event, you will gain further insight into metodebok.no and why this is an important tool for helping to reduce unwanted variation:
- Director of SKDE, Eva Stensland, will discuss the development of common method books in specialist healthcare for use in the four health regions.
- Incoming leader of interregional management - method books, Per Meinich, will explain why the tool is so well suited for editorial work, professional collaboration, and accessibility.
- Finally, Chief Physician Andreas Lind at Oslo University Hospital (OUS) will share his experiences with metodebok.no in clinical and editorial work with the laboratory portal and in gastro surgery.
There will also be time for debate and questions. The meeting will be chaired by Per Engstrand, leader of the interregional management group for method books, SKDE.
