The portal is owned by the four regional health authorities in Norway. An interregional management group for metodebok.no was established in 2023, and the administration is managed by SKDE. Each method book has an editorial team responsible for the content, with one or more editor(s) and typically a dozen authors. The editorial team also ensures compliance with quality requirements and updates to the content.
The method book is continually being developed. New books are published on an ongoing basis, and the method books are increasingly used as part of the quality system in more and more healthcare institutions.
